Cleaning Wine Stains

Remove Wine Stains with a "Bit of the Dog ..."Spray vodka on wine stains, scrub with a brush, and then blot dry.
Remove Red Wine Stains
The following suggestion sounds very dangerous to me.
It was vouched for, so I have posted it.
However, if you try this, be very careful!
I'm not sure that I'm brave enough for this one.
Wet the stain with luke warm water.
Then add a layer of table salt.
Rub and let stand for five minutes.
Pull fabric taut across a heat-proof bowl and secure with a rubber band.
Place in sink and carefully pour boiling water on the stain from a height of three feet.
The combined pressure and heat will eliminate the stain.
